Alaves

Tenerife plays Alaves this Sunday afternoon at 6pm. This is the first game after our loss. Obviouly the fans think it is an important game as the Popular end of the stadium sold out in 24 hours. We have finally found the location of the shop in the south where you can buy tickets. The lady there was very helpful and told us she alwyas has seats for the game including the Derby which we were sad about as if we had known we would have gone. Never mind we have found her now nd it saved me going to Santa Cruz tomorrow to get the tickets.
Alaves are playing for not going down the the 2B league so they will be making an effort but still the Helidoro is a fortress not easy to enter this season. The players were training in the stadium today first day this week as up to now they trained in Tincer their training ground this season.
The Frente Blanquiazul has made an enormous poster which says " go forward to the end without fear." but in Spanish of course!!! I will try to get a photo on Sunday so you can see it.

Still going up

Saturdays game was a blow. It had to come but still our first loss in 17 games was hard. What can't be forgotten is we are still in the top 3 and still in a good position to be going up to the first division.
Hercules played well and they still see they have a chance for ascending too. They played a sensationsl first half with 2 goles from Delibasic and one from Abel Aguilar.
CD tenerife played well but they were unable to make that final pass to the shot at gole . In the second half Nino sscored to bring the score to 3-1 but after that there was just no going through.
The club is calling for maximum suport for the home games that are left with the hope of winning 9 poiints at home which should give up enough points to ascend. Tickets go on sale from tuesday at 10.00 at all ticket sales points. See you in the stadium on sunday at six

CD Tenerife to the first division!!!

For the first time there was the shout in the stadium of 'We are going to the first division "Nos Vamos a Primera" 'On a warm sunny Sunday morning nearly 17,000 people managed to come to see their team. Considering the game was also televised this was a great turnout.
There was a memorial for Rommel Fernandez. Cristo presented flowers at the memorial which was at the Popular end of the field.

The game started well and there was a early chance by JuanLu which hit the side bar. Alfaro headed the first goal in minute 23 and followed it up with another header in the goal 25 minutes later. The final goal was form Juan Lu. Although Nino had chances it just wasn't his day. Ayoze, Angel and Cristo Marrero

Tenerife v. Murcia

It seems every game is a final this late into the season. We move form game to game calculating and recalculating to see the possibility of us ending up in the top 3 and actually going up to La Liga.
Tenerife has actually not lost at home since the 30/11/2008. There was a draw on the 15th of march but other than that we have won every game. Tomorrows game is at 12.00 as it is the Canal Plus game for sunday morning. Tickets behind the home goal are sold out but there are seats everywhere else. Murcia have a few injured but will be looking to play well so Tenerife will need to play their best and we should have another win.

Zaragoza - Tenerife 1-1

This was a good result for us against Zaragoza. I am not sure it was fair as I think we were better than them but a point was a good addition to our total and it kept the gap between Zaragoza and us the same.

1 Xerez 69
2Tenerife 66
3Zaragoza 62
4Hércules 61
5Rayo 59

There are now just 5 teams with a chance at clasification. We are doing well and with just 7 games to go.

The gol was scored by Nino bringing his total up to 23 goles this season. This is now 16 games unbeaten. If you want to read a review of the game try here with a report from someone who went to the game in Zaragoza. Over 600 fans went in 2 planes!!!!

Tenerife v. Zaragoza

This afternoon is a big game for Tenerife. This is probably the strongest team in our league. They just came down for La Liga last year and strongly hope to go back up. It is an away game but we haven't lost an away game in 2009.
We hope to win and will be watching at home at 5.30 pm. Again we have friends coming to watch with us as this is more fun. We are then going to watch the Madrid - Barca game which follows after.
Have a great day.
